Apprentices were yet again praised for their achievements at the Worcestershire Group Training annual awards Evening. Allen Gears have worked with Worcestershire Group Training Association (WGTA) for many years in training apprentices for the Pershore site. Their outstanding Team of trainers spend a year teaching the basics of Engineering and obtaining NVQ and city in guilds qualifications, then the following 3 years mentoring the apprentices in the work place with further qualifications to be obtained.
Each year WTGA presents certificates of qualifications gained and recognises outstanding achievements made by the students.
The awards were presented by Paralympic Champions Sascha Kindred and Nyree Lewis in a glittering Reception. Our own Chris McKeever won Best Machinist; this is the second time in a row an Allen Gears apprentice has won this prestigious award. We are pleased to say this is yet another achievement in a long list of award winners.
Allen Gears were then awarded the Prize of Employer of the year for our work with apprentices and the dedication given to the scheme. Human Resource Officer Julie Bellerby said we are proud of our apprentices and the scheme which gives young people a chance to obtain an Engineering qualification, whilst working along side our skilled Engineers.
