Scheduled Inspections
An increasing number of end-users and operators throughout the world are seeking to outsource a significant proportion of their operation and maintenance activities, freeing themselves from undefined levels of risk and responsibility whilst enjoying improved equipment availability and profitability.
Recommended maintenance schedule are suggested for all makes of gearboxes. We strongly advise that you follow these to ensure the longevity of your plant with no un-planned downtime. Click here to see an example of a recommended maintenance procedures
Whether on-board an FPSO, driving vital pumps or providing critical power in a hospital, Allen Gears Services maintenance packages rationalise maintenance regimes and draw upon our complete portfolio of OEM skills.
We offer 3 levels of gearbox inspection:
- Noise & Vibration Survey – Here we use the latest portable equipment to make routine surveys. Either for trending, monitoring condition, or for finding the source of vibration.
- Visual Inspection – Using videoscopes, we can assess the condition of the gear teeth without any significant dismantling – Together with a Noise & Vibration Survey, this can give an excellent suggestion of the condition of the gearbox – which will lead to a recommendation of when the next full inspection should take place
- Full Inspection – A full inspection would typically involve an on-site strip and replacement of ‘wearing’ components. Would include a visual inspection for:
- Bearing clearances
- Alignment
- Gear teeth condition
- Auxiliary drives
- Condition and cleaning of oilways
