At some point in the life of any rotating equipment it will require some degree of repair or overhaul. Allen Gears Services is committed to return any gearbox to full working condition as quickly and cost effectively as possible.
Wherever possible we will carry out repairs and overhaul on site. Parts that cannot be repaired in-situ will be returned to our state-of-the-art refurbishment facility in Pershore, UK. There, our highly experienced technical and engineering experts guarantee the swift manufacture and turnaround of replacement parts.
Typical Refurbishment programme
‘As received’ Inspection – When the unit is first inspected to determine its current condition. Any abnormalities are noted and photographs taken
Disassembly – The unit is carefully disassembled, taking care to note all parts and view condition of all components
Detailed Inspection - Each component is individually assessed and reported. Crack detection is carried out on major components using non destructive testing - magnetic particle inspection and die penetrant testing.
Report and recommendation – A detailed inspection report and damage analysis is compiled and presented to our engineering team.
Proposal and quotation – If any further work / rectification is deemed necessary, this will be included, along with the inspection report, to the customer.
Once approval is received the necessary parts are designed and manufactured. Re-assembly and testing will then occur as required by the customer.
The unit will be put back into operation, with Allen Gears Services personnel present if necessary or requested.
